DRIVE TRAIN REQUIREMENTS
- All kaskarre must have 4 wheels (maximum diameter: 300mm)
- Must be gravity powered only - no motors, engines, or sails
- Wood construction recommended (use screws and wood glue)
- Must meet all dimensional requirements (180cm wide × 365cm long × 215cm tall max)
STEERING SYSTEMS
- Simple Pivot Steering: Most common system with front axle rotating about a central pivot
- Four Bar Linkage: More complex (similar to automobile steering)
- Steering must accommodate sharp turns on the course
- Avoid designs that turn too sharply (can cause flipping)
BRAKING SYSTEMS
- Skid Pad on Wheels: Basic and effective (brake shoe rubs against wheels)
- Skid Pad on Ground: The pad contacts the ground directly, which is not recommended as it poses a risk of damaging the Marsh Street road surface.
- Calliper Brakes: Similar to bicycle brakes
- Anchor/Parachute: Novelty option only
- All kaskarre must have functional emergency braking systems
TEAM REQUIREMENTS
- Maximum 6 team members per entry (including driver)
- Teams must be local amateur entrants
- Allowed 4-meter push-start (clearly marked boundary)
- No interference with kaskar after push-start
- Teams may perform introductory performances
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum age: 12 years
- One driver per kaskar
- Drivers must not be locked in - must be able to exit freely
- Under-18 drivers require signed parental permission
SAFETY EQUIPMENT

- Elbow and knee pads required
- No loose clothing or accessories
JUDGING CRITERIA
- Creative design (30%)
- Race finish time (50%)
